Unleash the true potential of every employee in your organization
using AI, workshops and data.

My Role

My task as a product designer was to organize existing assets into a brand new design system built from scratch in Figma. Using variables, tokens and components, we built a highly involving platform and by introducing gamification, we made it a joy to use. Using the same design system connected to the Client First logic, we built the Webflow website. We crafted a rugged branding around the design system prepared for social media and presentations. Finally, I recorded dozens of tutorial videos to help users navigate the product easier.

About soft.fact

Project Milestones

To make organization easier, track milestones and success rate, the project was divided into 3 main parts, with additional requirements added along the way to support the main goals.

Product Design

Design System Creation

Plan, design, implement and optimize the design system using Figma's latest features and practices.

Webflow Development

Platform & Website Redesign

Redesign the platform and Webflow website using the design system to reduce feature shipping time and increase the user time spent on the platform.

Content Creation

Gamification System

Introduce gamification to increase user enjoyment, retention rate and motivation to work on themselves.

Design System Creation

The Problem

Feature launch is too slow and the platform retention rate is too low plus branding is all over the place.

The Goal

Creating a design system which allows for two week Sprint intervals and a consistent brand language across all properties.

Design System

To make the brand cohesive across all properties, we created a versatile  design system and used it for the platform as well as the Webflow website. Design system also helped us create cohesion for social media and presentation graphics, making the brand guidelines easy to follow. Additionally, the design system helped us with gamification styling, sizes and colors.

Diverse Components

One of the ways  to reduce feature release time was to make our components diverse and versatile. This made the developers job much easier because components followed the design system and have their booleans and conditionals set for re-use wherever possible on the platform.

Different Use Cases

Because it is built with different team members in mind, design system is robust and versatile. As a single source of truth it is easy to update, maintain and document for future feature releases and expansion.

Social Media

Using the design system for social media was essential to keep the branding consistent across all properties. Styles, guidelines  and graphics were  also transferred into Canva, so even people without Figma knowledge could use it easily.

Learnings

Went Well

Component creation, optimization and shipping went really well. Documentation for developers was easily understood and handover process was smooth.

Didn't Went Well

Social media team adoption didn't went so well because they are used to using Canva, so we implemented the same system in Canva for them to use.

Could Be Improved

Component export could improve further using Cursor AI+ existing plugins to reduce junk code and reduce shipping new platform features even further.

Platform & Website Design

The Problem

User retention rate is too low and team leaders are not getting comprehensive team report data.

The Goal

Optimize the user flow, improve navigation and have a clear product hierarchy with measurable success metrics.

User Research

We understood who the majority of the users were by seeing the survey data from our platform. Therefore we knew who we need to focus on and which information to show based on the user status in the organization.

Competitive Analysis

We analyzed the market and understood who the competition is and what is their approach to market. From this research we decided which features to focus on based on our user base and our target users.

User Hierarchy

Different users in organization require different focus on the platform. To solve this problem we divided the platform into three levels, Organization, Team and Individual. Every level is connected with the next and each level has their own dashboard to track development.

Platform Design

Catering to different users in the Organization, design of the platform is friendly, easy to use, spacious and responsive. Creating a design system allowed us to reduce the time for feature development by 200% and launch features on a bi-weekly basis.

Friendly Environment

People are using the platform to understand their emotions, how to work better within a team and to get to know each other better on a deeper level, we made sure that they have a pleasant, easy to use  experience filled with light, space and friendly graphics.

Webflow Website

We made sure to use the design system while building the Webflow website, optimizing it for SEO and making it responsive using ClientFirst approach while doing so.

Landing Page Creation

By implementing our design system, commonly used components and understanding sales goals, we were able to create a simple drag and drop component system in Webflow so the sales and marketing teams could easily generate landing pages for different goals and campaigns they have.

Learnings

Went Well

Sprint feature shipping time went from a month down to two weeks and feature implementation increased by 300% compared to the year prior.

Didn't Went Well

Initial user testing was done in person with people collected by the sales team. Subsequent testing was done online with users collected by the product team and went much better and much more focused.

Could Be Improved

User session time is measured by the time spent on the platform and although it increased dramatically, feature adoption measurements should be included soon.

Gamification System

The Problem

User enjoyment on the platform is low and that keeps them from coming back and doing additional measurements.

The Goal

Include a fun, reward based gamification system with rewards agreed with the company upfornt to increase user enjoyement.

Gamification Logic And Flow

Turning good experience into an amazing one and increasing the usage by 150%.

Make It Fun!

One feedback we got from our users  early on  is that the platform was not involving. So when we introduced gamification, we made sure to change that with engaging rewards, nice looking graphics and simple to use interface.

Development Tracking

Users can track their development as they use the product and work on themselves. User progress is determined by the amount of experience points they get which determines the level they are on, therefore the reward they can claim from their team leader.

Learnings

Went Well

Easy integration of assets I created in Figma & Blender with workflow of After Effects, Lottie and Rive was a joy to work with. Adoption was amazing and in the first week alone, the user session time went up by 200%.

Didn't Went Well

The data points storage solution was not good, and it provided wrong data to the users. This included the level information, status and experience points. This was all fixed using a different data storage solution.

Could Be Improved

Users loved the clear level hierarchy and easy to understand points system but had feedback on the reward claiming system. Perhaps an external solution would be a better fit for the future.
